Now, place a second pin about 1/2" away from the first pin (1/2" farther from the body). Remove the first pin - this adds about 2" total ease all around the seat/hip area. It's not a lot of ease, but it's enough for a fitting block.
For simplicity, at this stage, treat the side seam (line A3-A4) as a dart at this point. Distribute one third of the dart width to the back of the bodice and two-thirds to front of the bodice, either side of A2.
Join the endpoints to A3 to create the front and back side seams. Draft the front waist dart. If the bodice of a garment doesn't fit, don't expect the armhole or shoulder to fit the way they should, either.
